A Natural Fit With Interior Designer Gabrielle Santiago
Meet Gabrielle
For Gabrielle Santiago, it's all intentional. An interior designer and the founder of Los Angeles based Gabrielle Santiago Design, Gabrielle's designs go deeper than just pretty spaces. Gabrielle first fell in love with interior design while restoring her family's old Pennsylvania farmhouse with her father, a custom home builder. Since creativity follows Gabrielle wherever she goes, it came as no surprise when she decided to pursue her degree at the Fashion Institute of Merchandising & Design. At just 20 years old, Gabrielle landed an internship as a studio designer for Nate Berkus, bringing to life wallpapers and textiles for brands like Target and Joann Fabric and Craft Stores. Her next roles included Art Directors at Petit Nest and Lonni Paul Design. Though her eagerness to excel in the industry had propelled her forward, she was ready to stake a claim under her own name. Truly practicing what it means to lead a purposeful life, Gabrielle risked everything she built to launch her namesake interior design studio in 2015, manifesting her dreams into a reality. Gabrielle began incorporating tendrils of Feng Shui in her design process long before she fully submerged herself in the practice. As a New York University of Art and Design Certified Feng Shui expert, Gabrielle's designs serve a meaningful purpose. By creating harmony and balance with the energy of each space, Gabrielle gives her clients the tools they need to manifest more of what they want.
Blue & White Living With Gabrielle Santiago
Our Ming II Grasscloth Console in natural is looking super chic at home in this chinoiserie filled living room designed by Gabrielle Santiago. At 72" x 12" x 32, the Ming II's sleek silhouette is a perfect accent behind Gabrielle's sofa and offers up ample tabletop space for styling and accessorizing. We love how Gabrielle took advantage of the Ming II Console's lower shelf to showcase a beautiful collection of ginger jars.
Gabrielle's Design Tip
"Interior design should be able to effortlessly melt into your surroundings and lifestyle as nature does with human beings."
Who Are You Inspired by Right Now?
"I'm influenced by many designers, creators, and artists. Currently, one of my biggest inspirations is a local street artists named Corie Mattie. She's paving the way for the LGBT community and women in street art. I love people who use their art to create a different type of narrative. A narrative that's deep, pure, starts a conversation, and makes a positive impact on others. Another person I'm influenced by at the moment is Leanne Ford. I love her ability to blend old with the new so effortlessly (she's also a Pennsylvania girl like me which means she gets extra love points!). When people are capable of creating a niche within the space of design and make it so uniquely theirs it's so inspiring to me. I also love a good baking and cooking show. Recently I've been watching a ton because they inspire me and are such a mood refresher. Right now I'm loving Nadiya Hussain. The way she uses color and recreates traditional recipes is something I look forward to in each episode of her Netflix show."
