From Design Services to Barbie’s Dream House
For this particular project, Barbie worked closely with Robin, our lead interior designer with over a decade of experience in the home furnishings industry. Barbie’s sister Page, is a designer as well and had already conceptualized a floor plan for this maison de la mer. With the floor plan on hand and the print of the Breaker’s hotel in mind, Robin schemed up a few moodboards, proposing a beautiful curation of sofas, lounge chairs, coffee tables, consoles, lighting & more. Everything from NC made custom upholstery to breezy wicker furnishings and playful yet performance fabric offerings. Peep the presentation below!

“Thanks to Robin, the house came together with the look that we were after… even after considering the durability needed with 3 girls and a dog as well as the house being a seasonal rental. She totally ‘got’ what we were going for!”
For added warmth and texture, Robin incorporated our Newport Grasscloth Console and Springer Grasscloth Coffee Table, now retired. Our newest and most similar style is our Carolyn Grasscloth Coffee Table, available in square and rectangular. Also included are our Dunmore Cane Credenza in Rookwood Jade SW-2812, Green Les Touches Pillow Covers and Rhodes Lamps in Yellow Trail.
The powder bath of our dreams... animal print, palm fronds and the warmth of natural rattan!
What does this house say about you?
“Shell yeah! This house speaks fun. Come on in, mix a drink at the bar, take a dip in the pool and make some memories. This refresh was a labor of love between my sister, my mom and me. A fun place that our family could escape to from our permanent home in Tampa. A place where my girls could run free and where we could entertain friends and family for years to come. We live in Tampa but I am from Palm Beach, just one block over from our cottage. My parents and siblings are still in Palm Beach so it was important for me to keep a home base there.”
Step Inside This Seaview Seashell
Watch out Margot Robbie, there’s a new Barbie in town and just like us, she’s partial to punchy prints, hot pink-piped upholstery, natural materials and Palm Beach flair. With a stunning seaside home and a Gray Malin print as the jumping off point for her design, Barbie Tilman turned to our free design services to bring her vision to life. Scroll below to see how our dedicated Society Social interior design team dreamt up a multi-room scheme complete with furnishings and accessories fit for Barbie’s dream house.
“When it came time to refresh our Palm Beach cottage, I immediately thought of Society Social. I’ve followed the company since the beginning and bought a bar cart when they first opened. I knew their style would be perfect for our home.” - Barbie
For this al fresco social sitting room, Robin selected our Quinn Sofas 75" in Performance Natural Linen and Tally Berry Velvet contrast piping, Rosie Swivel Chairs and decorative pillows. Fear no print! For an added playful punch, Barbie's dream team opted for our Rosie Swivel Chairs to be reupholstered in our Performance Spotted Leopard Light Blue fabric by the yard.
For the above living area, Robin selected our Evie Sofa in Performance Cloud Linen and Performance Natural Linen contrast piping, Poppy Swivels in Performance Malavi Chambray and Performance Oxford Light Blue contrast piping and Quick Ship - Stevie Swivels in Tally Leaf Velvet and Performance Oxford Light Blue contrast piping.
If you had to pick a favorite piece...
“Ohhh this is a hard one, but I’d have to say the adorable Birdie Wicker Stools. They have so much personality! They sit at the end of our coffee table in front of the fireplace. The perfect perch for a cocktail and chat.” Shown here in our Tally Berry Velvet.
"We are so happy with how the 'Seaview Seashell' turned out and are so grateful for Society Social's help with making it so stylish."
Barbie and Page, you speak our language!! Thank you for inviting us into your home!
