SS Loves NYC // The Flower District
To kick off our month long #SocietySocialLovesNYC series, I'll be sharing my favorite neighborhood flower spot! This fall you'll find me engulfed in NYC's jungle, also known as the Flower District. This green oasis, located on 28th street between 6th and 7th, is the hot spot where many designers, party planners, and botanical enthusiasts go to get their flowers at wholesale prices. Even if you don't fall into any of these categories, you should definitely pay it a visit! You'll be surprised how many types of exotic flowers there are outside of your local bodega or Whole Foods!
For my fall arrangement I decided to try something different and used dahlias as my main bloom. These tall, large-flowered cultivars come in a variety of gorgeous colors and will definitely brighten up your coffee table!
When arranging, it's always fun to incorporate different elements! When I saw these bright, fall colored berries at the Flower District, I immediately knew they would liven up my bouquet! Not only is this Cheers Tub perfect for entertaining, it's also functional in other ways!
Instead of using a regular bouquet filler like white baby's breath, I opted for this vibrant, hot-pink version! This delicate bloom paired perfectly with my pastel dahlias and pink berries.
G Page Flowers imports blooms from all around the world, making it easy to scoop up dutch hydrangeas, tulips and a variety of unique flowers no matter the season!
So bundle up and go empty handed! You'll definitely end up coming home with more than planned!
