Holiday Spotlight Series No. 4 🎄 A Tropical Holiday with Crowns by Christy!
Meet Christy!
Christy Doramus of Christy's Garden is an event floral designer and creative consultant. After starting her career as a beauty publicist in NYC nearly 10 years ago, she began creating floral arrangements and flower crowns for client events when budgets were tight. This passion eventually led her to start Crowns by Christy, a flower crown business she ran for the past 5 years. Now, Christy has taken her love of florals and creative design to the next level by consulting some of her favorite brands on event design, activations and social media.

Christy recently began a personal design project - her first home and garden! As a fan of Society Social for years, she was excited to customize her first Stevie Swivel chairs with "Cabana Stripe" fabric by Schumacher in a bright yellow reminiscent of the awnings at Hotel Caesar Augustus in Capri where she recently spent her 30th birthday.
Christy's Holiday Decorating Tip:
It doesn't always have to be red and green - make it your own! I really don't have a drop of red in my home which is already full of SO MUCH COLOR, so traditional Christmas decorations feel a bit out of place. This year, I am decorating with white poinsettias and Paperwhites, which smell incredible. Also, my home is filled with tropical trees - 16 to be exact! Without a designated place for a Christmas tree, I am planning to add some lights to a couple of my large banana leaf trees and make what I already have feel more festive! When it comes to holiday entertaining, I always love to have our favorite spiced cider on the stove at our house, ready to serve. It really makes the entire kitchen smell amazing!

My first office was below Miles’ building and he has always been so kind to me. There is nothing I love more than a talented and successful creative who also has a great personality. He’s a fellow southerner too! I love following his Instagram for color inspiration.
2. Amanda Lindroth
I fell in love with Amanda’s island chic design style on my first trip to The Dunmore on Harbour Island several years ago. I’m such a fan of her product line too!
3. Bunny Williams
I love her taste in interiors, but I love her exterior design just as much! As an aspiring gardener, I love following her personal Instagram account for garden inspiration.
